This is a hard one. I love drinking coffee throughout the day and having tea at night. If I had to choose, I would choose coffee for it’s aroma and ritual.

I am a sucker for a good bowl of ramen. Lately, my partner and I have been learning how to make our own from a ramen specialized cookbook. What's the best advice you have ever received? What's the worst?
The best advice I received recently was relating to business, to just go for it. It will never be the perfect time and you will never be 100% ready. Get your idea out there and evolve it as you go.
The worst advice would probably be from my dad who told me I should go into real estate while I was in school for fashion design…good thing I didn’t take that advice!

Our first collection was named after streets we’ve lived on and loved. What’s a street or city you’ve loved and why?
Tokyo! I had the pleasure of visiting Japan right before the pandemic happened. Tokyo is a magical city that ticks off all the right boxes. Delicious food, great music and incredible fashion. The biggest highlight was the endless vending machines and snack options at 711.
What are you listening to lately?
Lately, I have been listening to a lot of podcasts while I work. I love true crime, but I listen to different podcasts depending on my mood. To name a few; Dateline, This Is Actually Happening, Smartless, Dr.Death, Just B with Bethenny Frankel, and Disgraceland.
Whose style inspires you?
From celebrities, it would have to be Bella Hadid. Her style is so effortless. She has the perfect balance between masculine and feminine. Her style is a cohesive mixture between street style and classic, pairing things that usually wouldn’t go together yet look flawless. She isn’t afraid to push the boundaries with her fashion choices, which always keeps her style exciting. Other inspiration comes from brands such as Bottega Veneta, Jacquemus, and Nanushka. I love their minimalist and modern style that plays with masculinity and femininity.
What are you watching or seen lately that you loved?
Mindhunter! It’s a 2 season show that’s on Netflix set in the 70’s/80’s about 2 FBI agents that are studying the mind of serial killers in jail, hoping to use this information for their current cases. It’s addictive!
What’s inspiring you lately?
The support of my family and friends has inspired me to finally start my business. Their continuous support is a driving inspiration everyday and I feel eternally grateful. It may be lame, but it's true!

think it’s always good to stay informed when it comes to social justice issues. A few great accounts to follow are @blackandembodied, @theconciouskid, @ckyourprivilege and @3tokenbrowngirls. It’s good to be mindful of others' situations, and help in any way that you can and that starts with being informed.
Other topics I like to stay up to date with are eco-friendly accounts that teach us to minimize our waste. I have encountered many accounts that give you daily tips and information about how to become more sustainable. Some great accounts to follow are @brightlyeco, @zero.waste.collective and @the.eco.warrior. Sometimes it’s hard to know where to start, so following accounts like these can be very helpful in starting your sustainability journey.

What’s an upcoming project you are excited about?
I am most excited about launching our very first swimwear line. Currently, VUK is making masks, scrunchies and totes as an introduction to our brand and fabrics. In the Spring 2021 we will finally be launching our swimwear line, just in time for summer. Can’t wait to show to you what we have been working on!
